If you enjoy mountain ranges, tranquil views and old 18th century historical villages, then you’ll love the quaint village of Kovachevitsa located in Bulgaria. It’s air is so crisp and fresh, and as you walk through the old village you’ll breathe in delicious smells of spices and local ingredients as traditional Bulgarian foods are being prepared. It was a chilly winter day, clear sky, but with some frost on the ground. I was happy that I was armed with my Sorel’s as the steep stone streets were frozen!

We were all amazed at the stone and wood construction of the buildings we saw there; it was all original and unique. Half of the buildings were either abandoned or presented the most welcoming cozy interiors, but that didn’t matter, as life was happening either way. The residents here were in great physical shape, they looked great and were some of the friendliest people i’ve ever met. We toured this region for the day; the whole family including my darling little love, Fiji.
