Hello loves! I am happy to finally be sharing with you our travel story from last month when we visited Downtown San Diego.

We began by booking our stay through airbnb and ended up finding the nicest loft in the heart of the Gaslamp District, on 5th Avenue. It was so nice to be able to walk right out of our building and not need a car to get to where we wanted to go. Right across the street from where we stayed was Cafe 21, they would open for breakfast and stay open throughout the day, ending some evenings with live music. Not only that but this place was food heaven with lots of healthy and incredible gluten free options on the menu, one of which was their stuffed cabbage leaves, and it was beyooooonnndd delicious! Another fun spot for dinner was Meze Greek Fusion, where we found two of our all time favorite things: Grilled Octopus and Plomari Ouzo. Don’t ask … just try 🙂

For lunch our favorite spot was Saigon on Fifth, and for this we had to take our car, but it was only a short drive up the street about 13 blocks. I highly recommend enjoying the traditional experience of their table specialties. It’s food you prepare at your table (they show you how), and we ordered the beef a la grill – there’s more veggies than meat actually -which is what I like:) It was so much fun to make our own roll selecting what you want (and what you don’t want in your roll) with rice paper! It was soooo delicious, I can eat this every single day!

If you are looking to explore during the day, I highly recommend Little Italy. It’s full with patio cafes, restaurants, and it’s always super lively! If it’s a warm day, I recommend heading over to Coronado Island – a short drive across a beautiful bridge from the Gaslamp District. Here you can have a fun day at the beach and visit some yummy restaurants! I’ve linked where we went so you can see more images and reviews, but for next time, I promise to show you some of my own photos too (which I didn’t take and should have)!
