Hair Talk

This post has been a long time coming. I have been asked many times what I do with my hair, and how I style it. So today I thought to share with you my daily hair routine, tips and current products. Hair TalkHair TalkHair TalkHair Talk Hair Talk Hair Talk Hair Talk, The Charming Olive, Adelina Perrin

I focus on healthy eating. Lots of green veggies, fruits, and less meat, dairy and gluten. I think this plays a big role in healthy skin and nails, but it’s not everything. Exercising regularly and maintaining a healthy stress balance does wonders for your health and it gives you stronger hair and skin. Supplements such as vitamin B, Biotin, olive leaf help too, but definitely won’t do the job all on their own. Positive thinking does wonders to your mood and skin! Want to glow? Focus on living a happy balanced life, one that fulfills you. Do what you enjoy on a daily or weekly routine and make time for yourself. Self love, we must give it to ourselves! You deserve it! Do you, and what makes YOU happy. And by this I don’t mean go and eat pizza and watch Netflix all day! Haha, I have been there myself, and at the end of it I feel really gross.

So, let’s talk hair! I have been using my new R+CO Cactus shampoo, and it’s been nice. Very little lathers up really quickly and it smells so good. I then use my favorite conditioner by Living Proof. When I get out of the shower, I need to use detangle cream or a leave in conditioner. This is a must, otherwise my hair feels dry and it will be frizzy. My current favorite product is this Moisture + Shine Cream from R+CO. I rub a good amount of it in while my hair is still pretty wet, and then comb it gently through with a detangling comb. These combs are cheap and can be found anywhere. You lose less hair as opposed to using a regular hair brush.

Then I usually blow-dry my hair. If it’s warm, like summer or fall, I sometimes go the air-dry method, but its not often I have the time or patience to go this route. Before I use any curling wands I like to use heat protectant spray. I make sure I spray this on in a room with open windows. I don’t like the taste of chemicals in my mouth and I always look to avoid products with bad ingredients. Now that my hair is ready for curling, let the fun begin!

I recently became aquatinted with T3 Micro products. I am obsessed with their styling wands! They have many cool products, and I love their clean designs. I have the Whirl Trio which is a set of 3 interchangeable barrels that you can plug into your styling wand. For loose curls I use the 1.5″ (largest barrel). Be careful with heat level 5, it gets really hot!! This set comes with a heat-resistant glove for your protection (I didn’t use it here), a storage tote, and a mat you can use under your hot wand.

My favorite barrel is the 1.25″ which creates a tighter curl. But having options is amazing! Since I don’t use hairspray to hold in my curls, I like to create a little more curl so it lasts me 2 days without having to do re-touches. I also always curl away from my face and hold the wand upside down. I like the curl effect that angle creates. Lastly, please be careful to not fry your hair. I think I did that on one part of my hair because I was holding it in too long so my hubby could capture a shot. Haha, the not so glamorous side of blogging. 🙂

I hope you enjoyed this and I look forward to hearing your thoughts on these products.

xx, Adelina
