Winter Cozy

We’re spending some time with the family in the mountains this week. It’s wonderful out here! The crisp air, the fluffy snow, the adventures … there’s so much fun to be had! We are staying in June Lake which is about 25 minutes from Mammoth. You don’t get much of the crowds here as you do in Mammoth, and I’ve come to feel like a local.

One of the most important (and favorite) accessories of mine are shoes. I love having shoes for every activity and it’s been this way my entire life. Today we decided to spend some time hanging out on a frozen lake lol, and I’ve never walked on a frozen lake before today! When we got to the lake we were the first ones there, and then some other families showed up. I still don’t know if it was a brave or dumb thing to do considering the consequences but it was SO MUCH FUN! Few times the ice made loud sounds below my feet similar to an airplane passing by, and that was so frightening! The lake was frozen but not frozen solid.

The cozy sneakers I wore to today’s shenanigans are from Payless. I wouldn’t have picked a different pair to wear. They are light-weight and fur-lined which also paired perfectly with my scarf and blue jeans. They are beyond comfortable and my feet stayed warm on light snow and ice.
