Summer Stripes

One of my favorite tops I like to keep in my closet at all times is a vertical striped one. Emphasis on the word vertical, because that gives the illusion of tighter and taller, as opposed to horizontal stripes, which can make you appear more wide. Not all horizontal stripes are bad, I do have some in my closet, but you probably won’t catch me wearing many. I have enough curves to begin with and when I wear horizontal stripes I look way curvier! I don’t particularly like that look on myself, but some people look fabulous in horizontal stripes! So vertical stripes is where it’s at for me! Style is about finding what works well for your body type.

I wore this look last weekend to a birthday BBQ and I was happy I wore my comfy mules! The yard we were in was not a place for anything but flats! We had a great time and ate lots of good seafood, salads and dips. Felt nice to reconnect with some old friends too!
